God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Most every year I can count on a few things. One of those things is for my mother to call me on March 4 and say something along the lines of “Happy only day that is a command…March Forth my son!” Yes I know, she is crazy but I love her for it.
So yesterday as I was spreading the “March Forth” love around to all those I encountered it made me think about the “March Forth” commands that God has given us or to those throughout the bible. Our God is one of action. While it is very biblical to “be still and know He is God,” He is not hesitant to ask us to go out or March Forth to receive what He has for us. See above only a few of the many examples throughout His word.
My favorite of these verses is that of Moses standing with the Israelites at the Red Sea not really thinking big enough, but knowing that if they stood still God would fight for them. Moses’s direction to the people was to “be still.” Immediately following that command, God issued one of the most well known “March Forth” commands in the bible, by having them walk across the Red Sea on dry land.
Regardless of what you think Gods plan for your life is, I promise you it is bigger. Whatever you think you can accomplish through God by being still, even more more miracles are waiting on you if you March Forth. A great friend of mine and writer on this blog, recently heard a March Forth command from God and moved to Australia. He is now receiving from God on a whole new level that He would have never experienced by being still where he was.
Now I am not saying that we should all get up from where we are and leave, or move somewhere. but I am saying that you should confidently accept God’s direction to March Forth when He tells you to, no matter where that may be. So in closing…MARCH FORTH!
