The ever-so popular Today Show averages over 4 million viewers and has been ranked the number one morning show for the past three weeks according to ratings. It is mind-blowing to imagine how many people were reached  by a Christian performance who may have never even stepped foot in a church. Less than 20% of people in America regularly attend church services.

Hillsong United’s “Oceans” was playing in secular homes, cars, offices, and many other places throughout the country on the Today Show!

“God created music for the sole purpose to connect the human heart, our soul, with heaven,” says Joel Houston. He writes their songs about what God wants to say. He takes the time to be still and listen to hear from heaven when song writing. As people were listening to their performance on television, they were receiving an impartation from heaven. People across the nation started their day off with Jesus!

Hillsong United is part of the global Hillsong churches, an international ministry, that transformed from just being a small church outside of Sydney. The band has sold over 17 million albums worldwide. 50 million people sing to their songs every Sunday! Joel said, “In the end, our success is not about us, it’s all about God. You take Him out of the equation, you got nothing.”

hillsongBand members, Joel Houston and Taya Smith, tell Hoda and Kathie Lee about their new documentary “Hillsong: Let Hope Rise” before their performance. The film’s release was prolonged due to the original studio who owned the rights to it went through financial difficulties. Pure Flix Entertainment released God’s Not Dead, Woodlawn, and will now be the company to release “Let Hope Rise.” This film is to show everyone what it is truly like to be a Christian in this modern day and age.

I came to know God through many trials and tribulations as a young adult. I have a peace and strength that is truly God given. My heart is to bring the lost, hurting, and broken to Christ. I strive to live my life to show people God's love, mercy, and grace.
